It's among 2 best friends, learning ballet... the teacher chooses one of them to go overseas to perform and the other friend is unhappy and somehow jealous about it. Thus, she do a lot of things like putting glasses in her friend ballet shoes b4 the audition, making wish at the fox stairs which will eventually come true. The original one which was choosen to perform overseas fall down the stairs due to some stuggling between both of them and she became crippled, she then jumped down the building after knowing that she won't be able to dance anymore. She's full of blood when she died... The fox stairs granted her friend wish~ she was choosen for the overseas competition as her friend replacement. Then the dead friend came back to hunt her friend... is really interesting and scary la! u won't know if u didn't watch it... hehex =p

bbq was fun!

Jus woke up not long ago... Yesterday, after going to our class BBQ, I felt quite tired when I came back home and I slept at 1AM. Today wake up at 1PM, wah~ sleep for 12 hours leh... I dunno I can be tat piggy~ :x wahaha...

I went to collect the cake from the cake shop which I ordered in Bedok, it's a 2KG cake which cost $56. After that, I met TianTian, LiLi and LiYan at Bedok Interchange because they are not familiar with the way to East Coast Park... Azrin told us to be the last to reach there since we are holding on to the cake and we actually planned to give Rebecca, the birthday girl a beautiful surprise! =) We walked a long long way up till pit 3 ~pheww... When we are reaching pit 3, I called up Huiyuan and proceeded on with the plan. She told us that they had already blindfolded Rebecca. Then, they light up the candles... the cake looks even beautiful when the candles are being lighted up!

When I saw Rebecca, she's already been sabo by people with flour all over her... ~hee Then, we removed the blindfold and our class sing her a birthday song. She's of course both happy and surprised. I sincerely wish her have a wonderful and memorable 19th Happy Birthday and hope she really enjoy herself on the BBQ day! After that we proceeded on to the newspaper game... In the end, Garryson and his friend won... lolx~ =p WeiZhi was the photograher of the day... She's in charge of snapping photos... I left with some of them at around 10PM plus because we want to catch the last bus and we know that we have to walk a long way to the bus stop.

Basically, BBQ was fun yesterday... I like the eating part... cos I pig ma... eat sleep eat sleep... ~ I grew so much fatter during the holidays... wahaha... I love the triangular food thingy which Vanitha brought. It's made by her! Inside got curry potato... Yummy! Tat was the 1st food item to finish! But I forget the name of that Indian food... Haha...

I also like the satay rice, stingray and the Blackforest cake which I ordered! Yummy!

Our 1st presentation

Today is our 1st project presentation to the class since poly life had started. After the critical thinking presentation, I have learnt a few valuable things which I can certainly improve on... :) I guessed I was a little nervous about the presentation. I think some of our group members are nervous as well, jus the same as me... but Zhe Theng and Joy presented really well! I believed that the purpose of presentations is to see how far can we go, whether we actually understand the aims/goals correctly, how well we understand the case/problem of the project and also how can we improve on our presentations, so that our future presentations can be better, right?

We are dressed in white long sleeve blouse and black pants. This is the 1st time I dressed so formally... Our group looks neat indeed, because of our similar dressings. =) After the critical thinking presentation, Ms Audrey commented on our group presentation. As usual, the class would also write down the good things(thumbs up) and the bad things(thumbs down), the things which we can improve on after every presentations.

After school has ended, I went out with TianTian... We shopped for a while and we saw WeiZhi 'My Melody' pencil case. It cost $1.50... I liked the picture la... because it's cute... but I didn't buy it anyway... ~heex =p This is the 3rd time I saw WeiZhi pencil case already... but of course at 3 different places...

Well I am turning in soon... I will stopped here for today.

Today I met my group members for project discussion today. Although it’s Sunday… we still meet up becos Monday is Vesak day, a public holiday and we felt that it would be harder for us to settle down since the libraries would be closed during public holiday as we need a place to discuss and have electric cables for laptop but the library are very crowded today… it’s filled up with many people and it took us quite a while to settle down…

I just recovered from my fever which I had it ytd. Well, ytd morning, when I woke up, I already felt tat I have a sore throat but I still go for the CO welcome tea and I reported there punctually at 9.30am. I already knew that every time after I kana sore throat, it would be fever next and I was correct! I felt feverish at about 4pm and I cannot tahan any more… so I went home… I missed the evening BBQ which I felt a little dissappointed…

I went home and asked my mum to feel with her hand whether I had a fever and she said yes. I then take out a thermometer to check my temperature… it’s 38.0 degree celcius… But I didn’t went to see doctor anyway because that time 6pm plus aldy, the polyclinics and the clinic opposite my house is already closed.

So wat I actually did was to take my panadol and to sleep early. Luckily, today when I woke up, I felt much better as the fever is gone… only left with the sore throat… aha… then I can come for the project meeting! So lucky… Ya… thanks to those which show concern wif me like Joy, Tian Tian and Eileen… I received Tian Tian sms tis morning… she’s forever so sweet like wats her name represents…

It’s still a pleasant day for me until on my way home… I reached Bedok interchange and there was a granny (not so old la) with his grandsons , 1 on her left and 1 on the right… their maid is behind them… They are like walking so slowly so I over-cut them then as I walk to the right, over-cutting them as in walk in front of them la… 1 of her grandson beat me at the back with his hand… It’s of course painful. He probably thinks tat I’m her maid? Becos of the similar height and stuff? Anyway, I was like okay, nevermind and continued to walk…

Then here comes the most unlucky thing!!!! Which annoyed me very much!!!! I was the first to board the bus (single-decker) and I get the privilege to choose the seats. I choose those seats at the back which is higher one… then followed by the rest of the passengers. All double seats are left with single outside seats and I was seating at the inside. The last 2 to board the bus is a woman and a man. Of course I would prefer the woman to seat beside me as she looks normal and the way that man dressed, I already knew that there’s something wrong with him… and I was right!

The woman is in front of the man… but she took a long time choosing the seats… as the woman was about to seat beside me… that man use the plastic bags that he was carrying to chop the seat beside me. Do I look very vulnerable as in easy to bully? (to be continued)

Happie day!

Today, we went for our electives classes again. I like my elective so much! I didn't regret choosing this professional image and ettiquette elective! IT'S SO FUN & INTERESTING! I guessed it's partly because of how the lecturer actually conducts this elective. Our mentor, Ms Wilna Thang, is such a lively lecturer that no matter what little slight actions she used for demonstration for us to see is still so funny! =)

Oh ya... today I was a little shocked to hear WeiLing saying me that I got Barbie Doll eyes~ because of my long eyelashes... Thanks for the compliment ya! :) **Happies! **Happies! Happy becos got people say that I have got long eyelashes since secondary school days le but none used 'Barbie Doll eyes' to describe my eyes... Thank you ah WeiLing! **Happies ~haha =p

Ok, I still got other things to do, I will stop here for now.

My lecturers...

By now, I have already get to know all of my lecturers. The lecturers which I like are Dr Julia Ong, Mr Alan Ong, Ms Audrey Koh and Ms Penny. Well... Dr Ong is our biological science lecturer... wat I like about her is tat she always explain the biology things very clearly… the way she explains to us is very clear but sadly, although she is very clear but all those chim chim bio stuff still made me very confuse and there are a lot of question marks in my head… I shall try to be more alert and attentive during lecture. I think I need to read thru my bio textbook when I’m free… but I haven even buy the book yet… haha… It’s $55! Wow…!

Mr Alan is a very lively teacher. He always conduct his lectures in a very funny way. The way he teaches make the whole lecture theatre lively and we would also not fall asleep…

Ms Audrey Koh, I really like her teaching, the 7 steps in problem solving and the CBL method I have understood it clearly!

Ms Penny teaches the Psychology lessons. I love Psychology lessons! It's cool... I have always wanting to learn all those Psychology stuff and of course is glad that my course touches part of Psychology... so, we got the chance to learn that!

Ms Yeo… hmmm… I think having her as our lab teacher is fine cos I know got one lab teacher who is really very very fierce one… The one which roars at Weizhi, asking her not to wear shorts in school since we are in Nursing. She told Wz tat this is not a beach... if want to wear shorts go to the beach... This is like so mean & nasty. Ya… Nursing stricter la… Those students in business or whatever can wear mini-skirts or tubes as they like. Oh ya… and nursing students are not allowed to wear slippers in school…

I dun really like my bio tutorial teacher… Everyone agrees tat her voice is too soft and I dun understand lots of things which she says and everyone is saying that she’s talking to herself only…

Every time, when it’s the CT lecture I would feel sleepy… Haiz… if only Ms Ng could conduct her lectures in a lively way like Mr Alan…

my class... NR0809

Well, I am officially posted to a class… NR0809 or can rather jus say Group 9. ^^
I am fine with my classmates… we get to know each other and I find them very friendly… Joy, which I already knew her during orientation, was posted to the same class as me too… Then I got to know Weizhi, she also very friendly la… Anything also can laugh one… Hahaha… :)

Today, during the lab session, ms yeo told us the ground rules to follow like our clothes dressing and accessories. All her sayings are very cartoon with expressions on her face which will make us laugh aloud… Oh ya, and my mentor is Ms Wilna Thang, she’s a very nice lady. I think we are lucky to get a good/kind mentor like her. :)

We are also being divided into 4 sub-groups for our projects… My group members are:
1)Joy
2)Weizhi
3)Tian Tian
4)Lili
5)Zhe Theng
6)& ME

Joy, Weizhi and I which are Singaporeans, live at the East side while Tian Tian, Lili and Zhe Theng lives at the central zone... they live near school, which makes me envy them a lot! Tian Tian & Lili are from China while Zhe Theng is from Malaysia. But I got the deepest impression from Tian Tian becos of her name (sweet-sweet) & she's a very small-size girl which makes her looks cute… Mostly everyone, even the lecturer when marking attendance will call her name as sweet-sweet… haha… I think her name suits her very much because she is indeed very sweet. ^^ At first I dunno that she is from China cos she doesn’t look like one… Maybe is becos of her skin colour… she’s a bit tanned becos most china people got very fair skin… Plus somemore she told me that she is in Singapore for 5 years already… No wonder she looks so Singaporean… Haha... =)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://glittery-sawdust.blogspot.com/2008/04/my-class-nr0809.html' title='my class... Thus, the seniors were like asking me to go into tat room there to join a group. I later then found out tat this group of people are actually people who also can't find their names in the name list. The senior which guides our group is Ting Yu, a very nice, friendly, lively and outgoing girl. She told us that we were the lostsheep which couldn't find our class. So this would just be the temporary group --- Group 29, HYDRIA was our group name.

We were given a black orientation T-shirt and we have to put them on... Ting Yu was saying tat we were lucky to get this pattern because what she get during their past orientation was worse than this and she even said tat her past orientation T-shirt was ugly! What I get was a XL-size T-shirt and there was none available for exchange... so... I just wear it... After hearing the welcome message and all, we proceeded to the atrium there to form a group circle. We were supposed to think of a cheer for our group...

At first, all of us were like so quiet because we dunno each other yet. It was this girl, named Joy who started the "noise" first... I mean as in leading us to begin to talk to each other. She first came up with some cheer ideas and the rest of us were like discussing which cheer to use, what words to add on and what actions shall we use.

Then we proceeded on in playing the games all that... We first play the birthday game, which we were supposed to arrange ourselves from the youngest at the front to the oldest at the back... I then found out that most of us were born in 1990 and only a few were born in 1991. Then, Joy was so cute to walked to the back herself, saying that "I am older than all of you..." Lol... Hmmm... we were not supposed to say out our date of our birthday... Be it the day, month and year all cannot say out. We were suppose to use actions only. Then there was an indian girl using hand to make sign to tell me that hers is on 19th August, thus, she was behind me... Then its time to check out answers, the game master asked we all to say out our date of birth... So far its still correct until the indian girl behind me which says... 19th August... 1983... we all were like so shocked, she never use sign to say properly... but nvm about it, it's just a game... haha... other ppl was like so cute, giving a shocking expression... Well, Joy you are not the oldest anyway, got people born in 1983, elder than you... I later found out tat Mushi is actually born in 1981... but she doesn't look older than us at all. She looks just the same age as us... Joy also doesn't look older than us because maybe she was smaller in size.

I enjoyed some of the games very much... especially the TUG-OF WAR!!! Our side won... played 2 times also won 2 times... must be our side stronger ba... I could roughly remember who were the people who were on the same side as me... They were Xinyi, Joy, me, Samantha, Luanne, Zhishan... the other 2 i forgot their names... lol...

Next, we play the amazing race. It's kinda of tired to play the amazing race... can die... really can die... run here, run there, run everywhere around NYP, all over the place... I sweated a lot... and felt very tired...

Then the game ended and we returned back to the auditorium? But too bad, Joy have something on and she have to left earlier... It was time to announce the winner groups which can proceed on to the finals for the cheerleading.

The 3 groups which can enter the finals are group 29, 19 and the Dental group... Of course we were all very happy to hear that our group can proceed on to the finals. We then run to the front of the stage to perform our HYDRIA cheer... and followed by the other 2 groups...

In the end... we won 2nd for our cheerleading =) A hamper full of snacks were distributed among us. Oh ya, and of course I want to thank Ting Yu, a very good senior which was able to lead us very well, especially the cheer and so on... and I was happy to know the ones which I get to talk to like Xinyi, Joy, Luanne and so on during the orientation... =p but we are gonna separate on monday~ when we get to know our actual class... too bad... Well... I guess that's all for today.

Orientation

Today I went for NYP orientation... I am glad to be part of the NYP family and is fine with the school's environment... just imagine... we have to spend 3 years in NYP... so we should love the school... if not everyday will be like a torture for us right? :) we were supposed to reach NYP at 9am and I arrived on time. Was wondering where to report to... luckily, there were some NYP seniors guiding us where to report to... I smiled at them when I saw them... =) somehow when I reached the auditorium, I got a kind of feeling that I was not being put into a class and that's true... my name was not found in the name list.

It's because I did not enter Nursing through JAE... well, that's a long story... I didn't choose Nursing in JAE, I put engineering in my choices instead but somehow after I got into the engineering course, I kept on asking myself whether that's what I really want... Somehow, I wasn't satisfied with my engineering course. It took me a few days to think and consider abt it...

Finally, I MADE A FIRM DECISION THAT I WANT TO BE IN THE NURSING COURSE and yes, I want to be a nurse in the future... somehow, I felt Nursing suits me better rather than engineering. Also, I prefer Nursing rather than engineering. Because firstly, my maths wasn't that good (although I passed my maths in my 'O' Levels) haha... secondly, Physics was an important subject in engineering course as Physics was the base/foundation of engineering and I didn't even take Physics in sec sch...

But too bad... I took more than 3 days to think abt the changing of course thingy and 3 days gone~ that means that... I MISSED THE APPEAL PERIOD lor... -_-" so, I apply NYP Nursing course through the Direct Admission Exercise (DAE)... I didn't apply to NP Nursing course because I prefer NYP Nursing rather than NP Nursing because NP is still new to Nursing.

I got receive a letter from the engineering sch a few weeks ago b4 the orientation... It's a letter asking me to attend a 3 to 5 days compulsory preparatory engineering physics class. It's from 8am to 5pm or 6pm? I can't remember the exact time but I jus know that the hours were long. I didn't attend it anyway because I was firm that I want to change to Nursing. Jus b4 the 1st day of the engineering preparatory course, one of the lecturer rang me up to ask me whether I was able to turn up for the prep course. I told her that I had already apply for a course transfer and had already received the Nursing course acceptance letter from the admin office saying that they have accepted me into the Nursing course.

With my 'O' Level results, I am quite confident that I would be accepted into the Nursing course. I know getting 20 points for the L1R4 is nothing great but at least I passed all my subjects in the L1R4... I will stopped here for today... tmr then continue on the happenings during my orientation... :)
